Coming soon to the App Store — iPhone & Apple Watch

Privacy Policy

Last updated 20 July 2026

The short version. Your health data never leaves your devices. There is no account, no server, and nothing for anyone to breach.

What stays on your device

Heart rate, workouts, training zones, achievements, goals and settings live on your iPhone and Apple Watch, and in Apple Health if you allow it. In The Zone reads and writes that data locally. None of it is transmitted anywhere.

What is shared, and only if you ask

If you sign in to Game Center and use the weekly leaderboard, exactly one number is submitted: your total minutes spent in a training zone for the current week. No heart rates, no workouts, no dates, no locations, no distances.

Apple handles identity, friends and ranking through Game Center. We never see who you are, and we operate no server that could store it.

Location

For outdoor workouts, your route is recorded on your Apple Watch and saved into Apple Health alongside the workout. It is stored by Health, not by us, and it is never uploaded. Indoor workouts do not use location at all.

Health data

In The Zone reads heart rate, resting heart rate, active energy, distance and workouts from Apple Health, and writes workouts back to it. This data is used only to display your training zones and history within the app.

Health data is never used for advertising, never sold, never shared with third parties, and never used for any purpose other than the features you can see.

Analytics and tracking

There are none. Specifically:

Children

In The Zone is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.

Deleting your data

Delete a workout in the History tab and it is removed from Apple Health entirely, including its route. Delete the app and everything it stored locally goes with it. Leaderboard scores are managed by Game Center in your Apple account settings.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated date above will change with it. Since the app collects nothing, any change would be to add a feature that does — and that would be stated plainly here and in the app before it shipped.
